Nigerian movies have become a world-renowned and well sought after class of moving making. Quality film and videos are readily available in Nigeria and the industry is rapidly adapting to smaller more affordable technology.
If you were going for reality, you could put an iPhone in your director's hand. Filming movies on phones is no longer a last resort for independent filmmakers who lack funds it is often to tool of choice.
Recently PC magazine posted an article focused on 7 films shot on the Iphone
including one made by award-winning director Steven Soderbergh. What is more important is that the accolades the film has received suggest it was worth the risk.
